Push Notifications are short text alerts that can be sent by a venue to its mobile app users.

Push notifications are available for venues that have native mobile apps (iOS or Android), but not for WebOrders only venues.

Push notifications are subject to certain limitations:

  • The user has to have the venue’s app installed on their device.

  • When installing the app, the user must choose to accept notifications.

  • The user must be logged into their account with the venue in order to receive the push notifications.


How to send a push notification

  1. Go to your dashboard on app.preoday.com

  2. Go to ‘Analytics' in the sidebar, and click on 'Customers

  3. Due to GDPR compliance, check the box next to 'Only display customers who have opted in to marketing'

  4. Check the boxes next to the names of people you want to receive your push notification - or the box next to 'Name' to select all the customers on the page.

  5. You can also send a push notification to all customers in the report by not checking any of the boxes next to the names.

  6. Click the three dots on the top bar - in line with 'All paying customers' and then, 'Send push notification'

  7. Write your message (maximum of 400 characters) and press 'Send'

To send a push notification to all customers - simply leave all the tick boxes (next to customer names) unchecked - see step 5.
