Menu Management

Info

The data pulled from the Centegra POS is often not organised in a way that’s fit for publication as a customer-facing menu. This means that once your integration has been successfully completed, it may be necessary to edit display names, descriptions, modifiers, allergens and images on the dashboard.

Info

Tax groups and modifiers are pre-assigned at the POS level.

  1. To begin creating your menu, visit your QikServe dashboard at app.preoday.com ‘Menus’ and ‘My Menus’. Create and arrange the menu sections to your requirements

  2. To add items to your new sections, click on the blue ‘:heavy_plus_sign: ' sign within the section, where you be prompted to ‘Create new item’ or 'Import existing item’. Click on 'Import existing item’. This will reveal a column on the right hand side of the screen with all the items that have been pulled from your POS till. Search for the items you want to add to the menu section then drag and drop them individually.

  3. The display names, descriptions and images of items can either be edited once they have been imported into the relevant sections, or by searching for the item in the ‘Items’ tab of ‘Menus’.

  4. To edit the modifier display names, visit the ‘Modifiers’ tab under ‘Menus’ and make the relevant changes. Just like items, modifier options can be hidden from the menu in real time.

  5. If you are wanting to add new items to your menu after the initial synchronisation, you will first need to create these items on your POS. Once you have done this, return to your QikServe dashboard and recreate this item by clicking on ‘Create new item’ under the relevant section. Fill in all the relevant item information.

Note

So that you do not break the integration when adding new items to your menu, you must add the ‘Centegra Item ID’ or ‘POS ID’ as it shows on your POS into the ‘External ID’ field of the item, found in the ‘More…’ tab

Troubleshooting

  • Whenever menu items are being added to the basket there is no validation against Centegra to confirm whether that item exists. At the time that the orders are injected into the POS, there is a ‘Flat Injection’. This means that the menu order data, as presented on the QikServe dashboard, always overrule any information on the Centegra POS, so long as that item exists with the same POS ID.

    • If the POS ID is entered in incorrectly or is not added at all, the order will be rejected because the POS could not locate the item to create the order.

    • If the POS ID correlates to a different menu item altogether, the order would go through at the price created on the QikServe dashboard but it will show incorrect order type on the POS
